Autodesk Network License Install
Install NLM on a Windows server. Start the installer for your Autodesk product. Click Install Tools & Utilities. Select Network License Manager and click Install. Choose a path to a local drive using the drive letter. If you need a single license of AutoCAD shared between multiple users, a subscription with multi-user access allows available seats to be assigned by a network license server. AutoCAD subscriptions with multi-user access can only be purchased from an Autodesk sales representative or an authorized reseller.

View the associated Readme file to get important system compatibility and installation information. Download the version that matches your operating system (32-bit or 64-bit). Well, it's that time again. Time to update your Autodesk Network License Manager files to the latest and greatest (Autodesk) version. Autodesk is providing an updated version 11.14.1.3 for 2019 products for the first time in two releases. It is advised that you update this and any 3rd party Flexera. A subscription with multi-user access is a good choice for teams of users, allowing the use of Autodesk products up to a maximum number of users, or seats, connected to a server network. Network licenses are shared, so individuals do not need to be assigned access. This video shows how to setup an Autodesk Network License for a Single server using LMTools and also how to open the correct Firewall ports to allow client machines to get access to the network.
The Autodesk License Manager can be installed on any machine with a supported operating system, the machines running Autodesk software just need be able to communicate with it, and it needs to be on all the time. For this reason, an existing server is typically chosen to run the license manager. It is a lightweight utility, so server performance will not be impacted. Here’s how to set it up:

2. Download the latest version of the Autodesk Network License Manager Software here.
3. Install the network license manager from the download.
4. Place the license file obtained in step 1 in C:Program FilesAutodesk Network License ManagerLicense, or whatever folder you specified for the installation location.
5. Launch the LMTOOLS Utility from the icon added to the Desktop by the installation and go to the Service/License File tab.
6. Configuration Using Services should be toggled on.

7. Go to the Config Services tab and type in a new service name or accept the default name.
8. Click the Browse button next to the Path to the lmgrd.exe file. It is located in the installation folder, C:Program FilesAutodesk Network License Manager. Select it and click Open.
9. Click the Browse button next to the Path to the license file. Browse to the license file located in step 4, and click Open.
10. Click the Browse button next to the Path to the debug log file. Browse to the installation folder, C:Program FilesAutodesk Network License Manager by default. In the File name cell, type debug.log and click Open, and the log file will be generated for you.
11. Toggle on Start Server and Power Up and Use Services, and then click Save Service.
12. Go to the Start/Stop/Reread tab, and click Start Server. It should say Server Start Successful at the bottom of the window.
13. The server is now up and running. Go to the Server Status tab and click on Perform Status Enquiry to verify. The window below should read out how many license files you have and how many are in use by which user.
